Account merging

Overview

Acquired SaaS accounts (guest and employee) can be manually merged to another employee account, system account, or guest account. This can be used for the following purposes

  • Merging of Github and other unknown accounts with employees whose email addresses cannot be retrieved (enabling management of retired employees).
  • Sub-email addresses (guest accounts) on a domain different from the employee's master address can be merged (managed as the same person).

【Example of use】

Google Workspace is used as the employee master, and if Microsoft 365 is operated under the onmicrosoft.com domain, the onmicrsoft.com account is linked to the email address of the Google Workspace domain for retirement management.   

 

How to merge account

Select account

Go to Accounts in the left menu. There are two ways to merge.

  1. Batch change: Click on the "Merge" button on the right side of the menu.
  2. Individual changes: Select the right edge of the account you wish to merge from with the mouse, the "Merge" button will appear, and click the "Merge" button.
The accounts that can be selected are accounts with User Type, Guest, or Unknown.

 

Merging

Clicking the Merge button displays a list of accounts that can be merged (or selected individually).

From [Existing Accounts to Match], click the [Account] pull-down button to display the account to which you want to merge the account.

Select the account to which you want to merge the account and click the "Apply" button.

The user types that can be selected as the destination of the merge are employee, system, or guest.

If the merge is successful, a message is displayed.

 

Result

Select the accounts to be merged. If the merge is successful, "X more" and the number of merged accounts will be displayed.

Check to see if the account you just merged appears.

 

Unmerge

Unmerge the accounts and return them to their pre-merge state.

Select the account to be merged from the list of accounts and click the "Separate" button.

A confirmation screen will appear.

If the separation is successful, the merge is displayed as unmerged.

Confirm that the separated account appears in the account list.

 

Appendix

note
  • The merged account will no longer appear in the list of accounts. Please check the account from which you merged
  • When the merge is canceled, the account will reappear in the list of accounts.
  • Please be sure to perform merging and unmerging while the linked SaaS is in normal synchronization.
